Work Experience

Work Experience Policy

Julie Burton Law is committed to offering work experience in the specialist areas of law that we practice. However we are a small firm and we receive a large volume of applications for work experience therefore can only offer a limited amount of placements.

We will be offering two placements each year. One around the Easter period and the second during the summer.

For successful applicants we will usually offer:

1. Placement in our office for 1 working week
2. An opportunity to shadow a member of staff which may include seeing clients (with their consent) either in the office or in a psychiatric hospital
3. Involvement in routine administrative activity
4. An insight into the areas of law we specialise in: Mental Health law, Community Care Law, Court of Protection work, future planning.

The placements are open to Law undergraduates and Law graduates.

We will consider all applications received but our policy is to give priority to applicants who can demonstrate a real interest and commitment to the areas of law we specialise in.
