We have been
involved recently in a high court case raising serious issues around the
assessment and then provision of services to a young adult in Wales
with significant support needs.
The case also dealt with the extent to which an
informal carer’s “ability or willingness” to provide care must be taken
into account.
The case settled shortly before the final hearing but the issues
raised by it require wider dissemination. Full details can be found by
