Lasting Power of Attorney - why bother?

16/05/2017

With more people living longer but suffering from debilitating conditions like dementia which can come with old age it is important to think about the future management of your (or your loved one’s) financial and welfare affairs.

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is the appropriate way to deal with property, personal affairs and welfare in the event that a person is no longer able to make decisions for themselves. They ensure that a person’s affairs are properly managed by a trusted relative or friend if something happens to them.

The documentation can allow a person to appoint someone they trust to make decisions on their behalf regarding some, or all, of their affairs.

If you would like to talk to someone about the pros and cons of making a LPA please give the office a call on 01248 364750.
